Meet the Doctors

Sherrie Hockett

I am originally from Havre, Montana. I graduated from Oregon State University with my DVM in 1998. I met my husband, Wayne Sonnichsen, while at WSU. He was getting his engineering degree and providing therapeutic shoeing for horses at the teaching hospital. Now he’s the "Lead Engineer" at the Roza Irrigation District and still shoes horses part time. We have four cats, Opie Taylor, Winky,  Zipper and Mocha, and two dogs, Frank and Baxter.

I have lots of hobbies: I’ve been quilting for 25 years, I love cooking and gardening, we are working on remodeling our house for which I’m building the kitchen cabinets.  I’ve been woodworking for about 8 years. I prefer clocks and jewelry boxes to furniture.

Joanna Fischer

I grew up in Buckley, WA. After graduating with my DVM from WSU in 2000, I began working at a mixed animal practice in Selah, WA. I joined the PHC staff in April 2006. My husband, Chris and I have a yellow lab named Pete, and a yellow tabby named Nelson, and two black and white cats, Murphy and Angus. We also co-own Lady, a diabetic doberman. There are few activities that I don't enjoy, but my favorites include camping, fishing, cooking, gardening, reading and horseback riding.
